Steve Scott, is an entrepreneur who was previously based in Birmingham, Alabama, working on entrepreneurial endeavors like Scott’s Pawn & Jewelry. Today, he is based in Puerto Rico.
Steve Scott was born and raised in Calera, Alabama, less than an hour from Birmingham. There, he attended Calera High School. After his high school graduation Mr. Scott moved to Alabaster and worked with Scott Gold Co. with his brother. During that time, he traveled the Southeastern United States, wholesaling gold jewelry and the business grew to multi-million-dollar status.
He received his scuba license in 1984, his pilot’s license in 1985 and his diamond grading degree in 1989. Mr. Scott holds several other business, business management and business training certifications.
In 1993, he began work on Scott’s Pawn & Jewelry, growing the entrepreneurial endeavor to over seventeen locations. As of 2016, he was the owner and operator of the company. In January 2017 Steve Scott sold Scott’s Pawn and Jewelry to his son Justin Scott. Justin is a third-generation pawn broker. Justin grew up in the family business watching his dad and grandfather wheel and deal and at the young age of 25 he has over twenty years’ experience in the pawn business. With Justin’s experience and drive. Scott’s Pawn & Jewelry will continue to grow and be the premier pawn shop in the Birmingham Alabama area.
From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Scott was a member of the Alabaster-Pelham Rotary Club, serving as Treasurer and Secretary.
Between 2002 and 2005, Mr. Scott worked as a Consultant with Capital Group International, specializing in financial service industries.
